The Personal Spaceship is used by Guardians to travel through space. To access this ship in the City, players must go to the tower. There will be different models that the player will have to earn, barter, gamble or purchase to get. The personal ships can be customized but it is not clear to what extent, though naming a personal ship is confirmed.[1]
Bungie has heavily implied on multiple occasions that there will be space combat. They have also implied that we will fly our space ships to the other planets in the Solar System ourselves, meaning no cut scenes or loading screens for travel to other planets.
The Gamescom 2013 live demo showed that personal spaceships have at least short-range teleportation technology to deploy Guardian pilots onto battlefields.[2]
