The Moon is the orbiting smaller body which rotates around the Earth.

Originally, The Moon was colonized by Humanity during the Golden Age.[3] There is a "thin" atmosphere present on The Moon due to Destiny's Space Magic.[4]

The Moon, as seen in the Destiny Moon trailer, is off-balance of what is normally viewed from Earth. Analyzing The Moon in the aforementioned trailer, it has undergone an approximate transformation of the top moving 25º away from camera and then moving 135º clockwise. The transformation reveals a section of The Moon's dark-side, where a structure at least 470 miles (756 kilometers) across is visible over the horizon in the Hommel sector.[6]

In the second Bungie Podcast, it was stated that the surface of the Moon will have many hidden areas, formed by the tectonic shifts on the Moon's surface, and that many of these locations will have hidden treasures.
